Learn how to recertify in the CCO Signalperson program (this program is unique in that recertification requires a practical exam, while other CCO programs require only a written exam to recertify.)
The information below is specific to the CCO Signalperson certification program.
WRITTEN EXAMS: PAPER/PENCIL TEST (PPT) OPTION
For paper/pencil tests (PPT), the appropriate Written Exam fees must be enclosed with your Candidate Application. Checks, money orders, or credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express) may be used, but do not send cash. Please include your payment in the envelope with all the other application materials but do not staple the check or money order to the application form.

Other PPT fees may apply if application is submitted late, candidate wishes to reschedule, or payment cannot be processed.
Discounts are available for candidates seeking Signalperson certification at the same time as Rigger certification; see the Candidate Applications for combined discounted fees.
WRITTEN EXAMS: COMPUTER-BASED TESTING (CBT) OPTION
To use the computer-based testing (CBT) option, go to the Computer-Based Testing page. This page includes links to a directory of approximately 300 PSI locations throughout the U.S. as well as instructions and the online application form.
CBT EXAMINATION FEES
Candidates must pay the appropriate CBT Written Exam fees when they apply online. A credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express) must be used to pay online. CBT exam payments are valid for one year. If the candidate does not schedule and test within 12 months, he/she forfeits the fees. This does not affect the deadline(s) noted in the CCO Certification Time Frames or the Recertification Requirements sections.
