May 6, 2022—The 52nd Biannual NCCCO Commissioners Meeting was held on April 22, 2022, at Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida.
More than 90 NCCCO Commissioners, committee members, guests, and staff gathered for the meeting on Friday, which was preceded as usual by three full days of committee meetings, including the exam management committees for the Mobile Crane Written Exam, Tower Crane, Overhead Crane, Drill Rig, and Signalperson programs. NCCCO’s Practical Exam Accreditation and Audit Committee was also in session.
“The exam management committees’ primary focus for the week was on item (exam question) writing to refresh the item banks and prepare for the release of new test forms,” said Bob Mahlman, NCCCO Director of Certification and Credentialing. “In total 367 new items were developed, including 141 Mobile Crane questions, 76 Tower Crane questions, 37 Overhead Crane items, 40 Drill Rig questions, and 73 Signalperson questions."
The NCCCO Commission spent most of the day Friday discussing matters of importance to the management and further development of CCO certification programs and policies, but the meeting also provided plenty of opportunity for more informal discourse among the more than 40 subject matter experts who gathered for the event.
