Get complete instructions on how to apply for and take CCO certification written exams and practical exams.
The information below is specific to the CCO Overhead Crane Operator certification program.
WRITTEN EXAM: PAPER/PENCIL TEST (PPT) OPTION
Candidates who want to sit for paper/pencil written exam(s) should first check the schedule of upcoming PPT Test Dates and Locations. Once a test location and date have been identified, candidates must use the online Candidate Application form to apply and use a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express) to pay the appropriate PPT written exam fees.

Other PPT fees may apply if application is submitted late, candidate wishes to reschedule, or payment cannot be processed.
WRITTEN EXAM: COMPUTER-BASED TESTING (CBT) OPTION
To use the computer-based testing (CBT) option, go to the Computer-Based Testing page. This page includes links to a directory of more than 400 PSI locations throughout the U.S. as well as detailed application instructions and the online application form.
CBT EXAMINATION FEES
You must pay the appropriate CBT Written Exam fees when you apply online. A credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express) must be used to pay online. CBT exam payments are valid for six months. If you do not schedule and test within six months, you will forfeit the fees. This does not affect the deadline(s) noted in the CCO Certification Time Frames or the Recertification Requirements sections on the Overhead Crane Operator Certification Overview page.
