CCO Knuckleboom Operator Certification Unveiled

October 2009  – The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) announced details of a brand new certification program at the ICUEE 2009 Demo Expo in October.

The event, held October 6-8 in Louisville, KY, was selected for the unveiling of the CCO Articulating Boom Crane Operator, according to NCCCO Articulating Crane Task Force Chairman, Tim Arkilander, due in part to the speed with which development work had progressed during the past nine months.  Arkilander is Product Manager for Hiab Cranes, Inc.

The new program has been developed by NCCCO in cooperation with the Articulating Crane Council of North America (ACCNA) and its member companies who represent the vast majority of knuckleboom cranes sold in the United States.

In addition to complete literature and registration information for the new certification program at two boothes during the expo, an information seminar was conducted, NCCCO featured practical exam demonstrations illustrating the unique features of the new practical exam at its outside booth.  Visitors had an opportunity to run the course, test their skills, and provide feedback.
