Hulse Steps Down as NCCCO Commission Chairman

December 2012 - Kerry Hulse, Equipment Manager, Deep South Crane & Rigging, Houston, TX, has stepped down as Chairman of the Commission of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). He is succeeded by Ellis Vliet, Equipment Manager, Turner Industries Group, New Orleans, LA.

Hulse, who has led the NCCCO Commission as Chairman for almost its entire 15-year existence and is currently serving a three-year term on the NCCCO Board of Directors, was selected as Chairman of the Commission in 1997; since then he has presided over 31 Commission meetings. Hulse’s honesty and integrity as well as his exemplary work ethic were cited by fellow Commissioners at a luncheon held recently in his honor.

“It’s been a privilege to have chaired this group over the better part of the past two decades,” Hulse said. “Although it was not without some significant challenges, we always got the job done because of the extraordinary expertise NCCCO has to draw on from companies and organizations across the country that support this fine organization and its vitally important safety mission.”

During Hulse’s term of office, NCCCO grew from its original four certification designations to its current offering of 20 certifications in nine categories.
